Beast Code has some amazingly talented employees in its ranks. The Employee Spotlight series highlights the talented individuals who work here across our different departments. Each month, we’ll be featuring an interview here on the blog and on our social accounts.
For this month’s Employee Spotlight, we spoke with Brian Griffis, a Naval Subject Matter Expert on the content creation team.
Coming from a military background, what’s it like transitioning to a company like Beast Code?
It is very different. Everywhere has rules, but military life is stricter than civilian life. It's more relaxing at Beast Code and it's very family friendly here. But we still have an important job to do at the end of the day. I tell everyone this is the perfect job to have after being in the Navy for 24 years.
If given a chance, who would you like to be for a day?
I think of people from my generation like Jon Bon Jovi, a super rockstar. I would be able to do whatever I wanted and live the dream for a day.
What’s your favorite part of working at Beast Code?
The ability to do something that positively affects the sailors. Once I became a leader in the military, I was responsible for the sailors under me. I was tasked with helping them try to grow and develop in positive ways. I think here at Beast Code we offer many things to better sailor's lives.
How do you think Beast Code will be supporting the Navy in the future?
It's crazy to look back at how we’ve blossomed in the past. I think we’re going to continue to grow and have a larger role as more people see what we’re offering as a company.
If you weren’t working here, what do you think you would be doing?
When I got out of the Navy, I initially started looking for jobs in the same field I was in. I probably would have wound up doing a job in the electrical maintenance field.
